Sonaisali Island Resort is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Beckett as Resort Manager. Simon joins the dynamic Senior Management Team after working in differing Management roles in hotels and resorts throughout Australia.
During his 15 years in the hospitality industry Simon has gained extensive experience in Front Office, Rooms Division Management as well as Hotel/Resort Management. Previous roles have included working with Ritz Carlton, Sheraton on the Park ~ Sydney, being a member of the pre-opening teams for Four Points by Sheraton ~ Port Macquarie & Surfair Resort ~ Queensland, and Front Office Manager Sheraton ~ Noosa, before he took on the challenging role of Resort Manager of Samurai Beach Resort in Port Stephens. This position involved extensive strategic development work for the development as well as the hands on role of Resort Manager. A task and challenging role that Simon excelled in. Simon is utilizing all his previous work experience in Hotels and resorts as he completes his Bachelor of Business degree in Hotel and Resort Management which has a strong focus on tourism research through Southern Cross University.
Commenting on his new role, Simon says “I am delighted to be working and living in Paradise, the people and culture, in my opinion, are the best in the world. Having been a visitor numerous times to Fiji I have made many local friends and I look forward to working closely with them now that I am based here. I also look forward to applying my skills and knowledge here at Sonaisali, as well as maintaining the resort’s commitment to its environmental best practices.”
